Defensive-line absences
Daron Payne suffered a Jones fracture and is out for the season; Javon Kinlaw is also out, with a knee injury. Jer’Zhan Newton was ruled out and was not activated from injured reserve, leaving Washington without key defensive-line options.

Offensive penalties and defensive mistakes hurt Washington early, before a second-half comeback fell short. The earlier 27-27 tie against New York also ended with a missed scoring chance when time expired during Jayden Daniels' overtime scramble.
Daniels has practiced fully despite his left elbow remaining on the injury report. Marcus Mariota is also available after his knee problem. Daniels ran for 103 yards and two touchdowns against the Giants. Mariota threw three touchdown passes in the 33-31 victory over Seattle.
Washington must replace Terry McLaurin after his season-ending patellar-tendon tear. The team promoted Van Jefferson, and Dan Quinn has identified rookie Antonio Williams for more targets. Stefon Diggs remains central to the passing game. Quinn also plans a larger workload for Austin Ekeler while Jacory Croskey-Merritt remains on injured reserve.
The defensive front has further absences. Daron Payne is out with a reported season-ending foot fracture, Javon Kinlaw is out with a knee injury, and Jer'Zhan Newton has not been activated.
