Baker Mayfield returned against Carolina after his thumb injury. Tampa Bay relied on its rushing attack rather than a large passing workload. Bucky Irving gained 106 yards on the ground, and Tampa Bay rushed for 258 yards overall. Todd Bowles has stressed that the running game must also produce at home.
The defense recorded five sacks against both Pittsburgh and Carolina. Yaya Diaby supplied three against the Panthers, while Rueben Bain Jr. and David Walker also featured in the outside-linebacker rotation.
