The news
Smith’s offense shows progress
Geno Smith and the offense put up 377 net yards against Miami, New York’s highest single-game total of the season. Smith threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns, but a red-zone interception and a stalled goal-line series were among the game’s decisive moments.
Cooper and Taylor supply scoring
Omar Cooper Jr. had 115 receiving yards and a touchdown against Miami, his second straight game with a 100-yard receiving total and a score. Mason Taylor scored twice, and Braelon Allen rushed for 104 yards.
Hall’s return remains unsettled
Hall is questionable with a quad injury after limited participation throughout the practice week. Allen finished the week with full participation and no game designation after an ankle issue.
Defensive absences reshape the rotation
David Bailey is doubtful, and Joseph Ossai and T’Vondre Sweat are out; Sweat was placed on injured reserve on October 31. The Jets signed defensive tackle Payton Page and elevated Brant Banks and Quinton Bell for the Raiders game.
