The news
Nembhard carries a depleted backcourt
Haliburton, T.J. McConnell and Ben Sheppard remain out, leaving Indiana short in the backcourt. Nembhard scored 23 points against Brooklyn, following a Miami game in which Quenton Jackson scored 24 and Nembhard added 22.
Huff starts while Zubac remains out
Zubac remains sidelined by the left ankle sprain he suffered in Brooklyn. Huff replaced him during that game and is now Indiana's projected starting center.
Shooting swings continue
Indiana made 17 of its 37 attempts from long range at Miami. Against Brooklyn, the Pacers shot 32% overall and made only 4 of 20 attempts from long range.
Carlisle returns to the bench
Carlisle missed the Miami game to attend his father's memorial service. He rejoined Indiana afterward and was back coaching against Brooklyn.

Season so far

Indiana enters tonight at 2-5, with a 0-3 home record and a 2-2 road mark. Its latest home game ended in a 90-98 loss to Brooklyn. The Pacers shot 32% overall and made 4 of 20 attempts from long range. Andrew Nembhard scored 23 points and Pascal Siakam added 17.
The available backcourt remains thin. Tyrese Haliburton is out with a left hamstring strain, while T.J. McConnell and Ben Sheppard also remain sidelined. Sunday's update put Haliburton's remaining absence at 10 days or longer. Aaron Nesmith is probable with a left hamstring strain. Obi Toppin is questionable after missing the Brooklyn game with lower-back soreness.
Ivica Zubac's left ankle sprain has moved Jay Huff into the projected starting group. Nembhard, Nesmith, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Siakam complete that group. Quenton Jackson scored 24 points in the 125-145 loss at Miami, when Nembhard contributed 22 points and nine assists. Larry Nance Jr. also contributed to Sunday's attempted comeback.
Rick Carlisle is back after missing the Miami trip for a family memorial. Oubre and Nance are offseason additions. Sheppard and Jarace Walker passed the extension deadline without new deals. Indiana's Monday injury report was still pending at the latest official update. Atlanta arrives at 3-4, with Jalen Johnson questionable and Kingston Flemings suspended.
