UTSA reaches tonight at 6-1, with a 3-0 home record and a 3-1 road mark. Its latest result was a 42-19 win at Tulane. That followed home wins over Navy and South Florida and a road win at Rice. The loss at Texas remains its only defeat.
The Tulane game showed the running game’s depth. Will Henderson III gained 102 yards and scored a rushing touchdown, while A’Marion Peterson added two rushing scores. Owen McCown remains the starting quarterback. His late drive against South Florida included a third-down scramble, and the current receiver chart keeps David Amador II and Mekhi Anderson in starting spots.
Defensively, UTSA held Tulane to 67 rushing yards and 332 total yards. Owen Pewee contributed three sacks in that win. Jeff Traylor’s staff also has Rick Bowie coordinating the offense. The published team depth chart lists shared starting options at left tackle, tight end and outside receiver.
