Clemson arrives at Syracuse with a 5-3 record, including a 3-2 home mark and a 2-1 road mark. The season has included a 37-0 shutout of Charleston Southern and a 36-24 road win at Florida State, as well as losses by 13-41 to Miami and 10-51 at LSU. The Tigers also beat North Carolina, California and Georgia Southern, and lost to Virginia Tech.
Quarterback Tait Reynolds, a true freshman, moved from reserve work to his first start against North Carolina and led a comeback win. At Florida State he completed 18 of 32 passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns, added 85 rushing yards, and broke a long scoring run. The defense forced four turnovers in that game, and kicker Nolan Hauser converted all five field-goal attempts.
Availability has changed the offensive rotation. Davidson is out with an ankle sprain, and Sewell and Thurmon are out on the offensive line; Grant Wise is set to start at center and Gavin Blanchard at left guard. Brown and Sellars are also out, with the depth chart listing Juju Preston or Naeem Burroughs as receiver options. The latest report lists Markus Strong and Kobe McCloud out as well.
Clemson’s staff lists Chad Morris on offense, Tom Allen on defense and Rich Bisaccia on special teams. The Tigers added scholarship players with college experience in the offseason, including transfers and a junior-college signee. Swinney tied Bobby Bowden’s ACC regular-season wins mark at Florida State. Clemson’s November schedule begins with a return to Syracuse, where the official depth chart lists several alternative starters on both lines.

The Tigers have wins over Florida State, Charleston Southern, California, North Carolina and Georgia Southern, alongside losses to Virginia Tech, Miami and LSU. Clemson shut out Charleston Southern 37-0, while the losses to Miami and LSU were 13-41 and 10-51. At Florida State, the defense forced four turnovers; Virginia Tech was held to 234 yards and six sacks in a 20-16 Clemson loss.
True freshman Tait Reynolds moved from reserve duty to his first start against North Carolina and guided Clemson to a comeback win. He also accounted for passing and rushing scores in the latest victory at Florida State.
Clemson is without running back Gideon Davidson, center Harris Sewell, left guard Elyjah Thurmon and receiver Tyler Brown. Jarvis Green, Grant Wise and Gavin Blanchard are among the replacements identified for the backfield and line, while the depth chart lists receiver alternatives for Brown’s spot.
Clemson’s 36-24 win at Florida State featured four forced turnovers, including two interceptions by Elliot Washington II. Reynolds added a long rushing touchdown, and Nolan Hauser made all five of his field-goal attempts.
Dabo Swinney tied Bobby Bowden’s mark for ACC regular-season coaching victories with the Florida State win. Clemson’s 2026 staff lists Chad Morris as offensive coordinator, Tom Allen on defense and Rich Bisaccia on special teams.
