UAB standout Yaxel Lendeborg transfers to Michigan, will test draft waters

Yaxel Lendeborg, listed by 247Sports as the No. 1 transfer player in the nation, has committed to Michigan.
The 247Sports transfer portal listings confirmed the move on Saturday. He spent the past two seasons at UAB after starting his career at the junior college level at Arizona Western.
Multiple outlets indicated he is expected to test the 2025 NBA Draft waters but likely is headed to Michigan.
A 6-foot-9 forward, Lendeborg led the Blazers in every statistical category, averaging 17.7 points, 11.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.8 blocks per game.
He was an All-American Athletic Conference first-team selection and also the AAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2024-25. He led the Blazers to the quarterfinal of the NIT, where they lost to UC Irvine in overtime.
Michigan advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, losing to No. 1 seed Auburn to close coach Dusty May's first season in Ann Arbor.
